@michael Thanks! I am not terribly familiar with any of the choices other than the American Library Association (ALA). As I currently work in a public library and intend to continue in the future, I think ALA is going to be applicable longterm. I’m also intrigued by the Association for Information Science and Technology (ASIS&T). ASIS&T seems to be more researched focused which might be the better choice for this year while I’m in this program. Do you have any advice about which to choose?
@dgriffin I would agree about ALA..I would also go so far to say that a PLA membership would probably serve you the best. I don’t know what the add-on fee is for PLA, but I got the most value from that part of the association over all of my years as a public librarian. I also think they do one of the best conferences out there.
