Thank you, Connor! I really appreciate the feedback! Although I don’t play horror video games myself, I find it intriguing how much they are invested in and spoken about. They look hyper real nowadays! Nowadays with youtubers, discord, and whatnot, there are so many horror communities online!

This is a cool topic to research as well! I’ve never been to Comic con myself but I’m sure you’ll have plenty to draw from when researching this community! I can only imagine how vast the resources will be when putting this paper together. I think you’ve chosen a really great topic.

Thank you, Iris! That is a fantastic TV show for sure! I do like horror films and TV so it may very well serve as a great example. Especially since it evolved from a video game to an on-screen adaptation!

Choosing Your Community Discussion 1 month, 2 weeks ago
Hello Everyone! After some endless pondering about the topic I want to choose, I think I’m going to go ahead and choose horror fans as my topic. Oh, I would love to see if “The Last of Us” would be considered the type of horror genre you would approach. Actually, I’ll be excited to read all about this!

I think this is a fantastic idea! Especially with horror games such as Resident Evil becoming more and more popular, I think it would be really interesting to see how the community evolves over time!

@mmsosa This is a super interesting and active community. I would say the LIS literature related to fans and Serious Leisure would work well for your explorations. There are a lot of avenues as you note: movies, TV, games, etc. I think if you took a broad approach it would work well but you could also focus on a specific format too.
