Greetings all! Module 1 begins today. This module explores the nature of information, definitions of community, and how communities form around information and knowledge sharing/creation.
You’ll find a lecture, readings and more. A description of the module requirements is here.
Graduate Writing
Clear and scholarly writing is required for this course. If you have not written academically for awhile, there are resources available to you. The SJSU Writing Center offers many services including workshops that may be of interest to you.
INFO 200 Section Site Postings:
- Each week will begin with a “Welcome to…” post introducing the week’s module. It will contain vital information and action items for everyone. Due dates will be highlighted.
- Some weeks will also include a separate “Getting Started…” post introducing a major assignment.
- Other posts will highlight various content and helpers for the course.
Occasionally throughout the semester, we will have class chats on Zoom. These are optional “drop-in” sessions for students to ask questions, share or just chat. There are no mandatory sessions, but students are encouraged to attend if schedules allow. It will be a way for us to check and keep in touch. All sessions will be recorded. The following are scheduled:
- September 8: Our first Class Social Hour will be at 12pm PT. I’ll be on hand to chat or answer any questions you have. No formal agenda, just a chance to check in. Please feel free to drop in and say hi. I’ll be having a cup of tea and will be glad to say hello or answer a question.Join from PC, Mac, Linux, iOS or Android: https://sjsu.zoom.us/j/81400462789?pwd=jvi3xabSsP3e1hsMRTqREKWerFSjrH.1 Password: 260862
