I am strongly considering focusing on addiction recovery communities, but I am concerned as it is recommended to choose a community you are not directly involved with. I could choose an addiction that I am not in recovery for, but I am worried that in doing so, it may limit the research and literature available to me? I know that the recovery community is ravenous for information and community that has similar lived experiences, and would make for an incredibly interesting group to research. I am grateful for any feedback!
