Hi everybody! I hope it is becoming a little easier to decide on your chosen community. In my case, I keep over thinking everything haha! When I last posted I was considering either the gluten free community or the film preservation community. Since then, I have added another option to the mix!
I’ve thought a lot about focusing on international students. I used to be an international student from 2013-2017 and it required a lot of information to thrive in school but also in daily life. Being an international student was hard for many reasons, and I was only a Canadian studying in the US. I could just imagine the difficulties other students faced especially from non English speaking countries. I bonded with many other international students about the pressures that we were under that local students just didn’t understand. For this reason I’m leaning towards changing my information community to international students and their various information needs.
@jessabelle this is also a viable community to pursue. I think they would be great interest in the academic library community on meeting the needs of international students so the research is most probably robust.
Thanks @michael that’s exactly what I was thinking. I think I’ve decided on my community! Yippee!
@jessabelle Yay!!
@jessabelle I have decided to examine first generation college students – similar to your topic. I look forward to reading your blog post.
Hi @mkane that sounds like a great topic to explore! I look forward to reading yours as well 🙂
