@Michael I hope you are enjoying your trip. I found an amazing peer reviewed article about my information community but it was only available in Chinese. I used google translate to translate it and I like what I found. Is it okay to use a machine translated document of an article? Are there special rules around that?

Just a clarification please, in the INFO 200 Criteria for Grading Blog reports it refer’s to Fisher and Bishop’s five Characteristics of information communities, is this the same as Fisher and Fulton’s definition and characteristics of Information Communities?
-
@sweetmj YES! Thanks for catching that. In the 2nd edition of our textbook, it was Fisher and Bishop writing in info communities. I will update that document. I recall do a universal find on “Bishop” when the new book came out. Hehe

Hey everyone, I have been pondering the homeschool family community. It is a community I fell into due to the pandemic. and there is so much there. But I am wondering if it is too broad of a subject.
-
@sweetmj The Homeschooling Information Community is not too broad at all. I have had papers in the past on the group. I do seem to recall there is not as much LIS research as I thought.

@Michael when I was reading over the blog instructions, it states “Submit each Blog Report URL to Canvas on the due date” am I being too literal if I interpret that as we only submit it on the due date only? I just want to clarify if we can submit before the due date as well?
-
Hello @sweetmj – you can submit any time up until the due date at 11:59pm PT. 😀

Hey Everyone- I go back and forth between audio books and podcasts pretty regularly. The podcasts I frequent vary between family friendly podcasts and true crime recounts. The family friendly listens are like The Past and The Curious (fun history stories with children as the focus of the audience) or The Potterverse (Harry Potter Podcast) I am a…[Read more]

Hello @sweetmj Got back at 1am this morning after delays and I am walking around in a brain fog! But I love this idea. Yes – use the machine translation. APA may have some rules but let’s roll with it for now however you would like to cite.
