Welcome to Module 12: Global Information Communities

Greetings! This week’s module explores the work LIS professionals are doing all over the world implementing services and spaces designed for their communities. Some seek to engage users via programming and other means of connection to the institution.

Action Items:

  • The Research paper is now due December 6th at 11:59pm. Please plan your writing time accordingly for the due date. This is to be your most polished, scholarly, and effective writing of the semester.
  • Review the helper on academic writing. There are a lot of links to help you!
Major Assignment Due Dates:

Upcoming Blog Report Due Dates: (See assignment page for full descriptors.)

  • Blog Post #6: Report on the issues your community may face on an international scale. DUE: 11/17
  • Blog Post #7: Report on your community’s use of emerging technologies. DUE: 11/24
  • Blog Post #8: Personal reflection on information communities. DUE: 12/09

Late Policy:

If you need to turn in an assignment late (for any reason), you must write to me before the deadline at mstephens7@mac.com.

  • If you do not write before the deadline, late submissions for major assignments will be reduced by 20% of the total points possible for that assignment.
  • There is more flexibility with Blog Reports. They can be up to 3 days late.

    Hi Professor,

    Happy Monday.

Just to confirm, the Literature Review Matrix is now due 11/14, correct?
This post states 11/08, but I figured it could be have been copied from an outdated source.
I just want to make sure I’m not late!

    Thanks,
    Cammie
