Dear INFO 200 Students,

I’m writing to let you know about an exciting update we are making to improve your experience with the assignment workflow in INFO 200 this semester.

We’re currently working on incorporating “assignment helpers”—those extra resources, tips, and clarifications—directly into the assignment requirement pages. This means that instead of navigating between multiple pages or searching for guidance, you’ll find everything you need embedded within the assignments themselves.

Please note that learning objectives, grading rubrics, and assignment specifics will remain the same—we are only improving the way the information is presented to make it more accessible and user-friendly.

I’m thrilled to share that I’m collaborating with Professor Schmidt and School of Information student Alana Otis (as part of an independent study) to make this happen. Together, we are also laying the groundwork for updates to INFO 200 in Summer 2025, incorporating student feedback to enhance the course even further.

What You Need to Know:

• What’s changing? Helpful tools and resources will be added directly into the assignment instructions and guidelines for easier access.

• What’s NOT changing? As stated above, learning objectives, grading rubrics, and assignment requirements remain the same—only the presentation is being updated.

• Why is this happening? To streamline your workflow, reduce confusion, and provide a better overall experience with the assignments.

• When will this happen? The LIS Model/Theory assignment will go up by February 6.  Changes will occur over the next couple of weeks, but we will notify you as soon as they are live and ready for use.

I appreciate your patience during this short transition period and am confident that the updated assignment pages will be a significant improvement. If you have any questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to reach out.

Thank you for your understanding and flexibility as we make these enhancements!

Wishing you all a great semester-

Dr. Michael Stephens
