Effective and polished graduate level writing is an important part of INFO 200. The quality of your writing is a substantial part of how I’ll assess your major assignments. I encourage you to write first drafts ahead of deadline so you’ll have ample time revise and improve your papers.
The SJSU Writing Center is a resource worth checking out! From the SJSU WC:
The Writing Center will open for spring 2025 on Monday, February 3rd! We’re offering the following services this semester.
- In-person tutoring appointments (on the second floor of the MLK Library) & online tutoring appointments (via Zoom)
- Online open lab (drop-ins) for quick writing-related questions
- Online one-hour workshops on various writing topics
- Special events (e.g., our “Foundations of Graduate Writing” series for early career graduate students)
As always, we have also created plenty of asynchronous instructional writing resources (such as video workshops and handouts) for you and your students to use at any time. Our AI Writer Toolbox is now available as well to provide your students with a balanced view of the potential benefits and drawbacks of AI writing tools.
